Visit this hidden gem located in Denton, Maryland!
We recently visited and had the best time visiting the Workhorse Rescue and Exotics Farm! This place was so fun and we will definitely be back!
There is so many details I need to add.
▪️ They are only open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm. You can book online! They close for the winter and reopen in the spring.
(And specific dates for the seasons )
▪️It costs $15.
▪️When you arrive, there is a farm gate. You must open it, drive through and then close it so no animals get out. DRIVE SLOWLY! There are animals wandering around.
▪️⚠️ Bring hand sanitizer! There is no where to wash your hands.
▪️Wear boots! You will walk through the animal living areas. 💩
▪️You can bring carrots and lettuce to feed the animals. The zebras loved carrots but they were not fans of lettuce.
▪️When you arrive, you will start out seeing and petting the sloth. I believe his name was Buddy!
Then you go into an enclosure and given crackers to feed the kangaroo’s, wallaby’s, capybaras, cavy and much more! They even had porcupines you can feed!
From there, you take a ride on a tracker bed to see the other animals- camels, cows, emus, zebras etc. The workers put down grain on the tracker bed so the animals can eat and after we were able to feed them our lettuce and carrots.
✨ They even had a zonkey (half donkey, half zebra) that you can see.
